Premier League Preview: Newcastle Vs Manchester United

>

It's Premier League match time once more at St James's Park when Newcastle welcome Manchester United in match week 33 on Tuesday, April 19, in the second of a two-legged contest.

The first, hosted by Manchester United on August 16, 2010, ended three- in the hosts' favour. Sir Alex Ferguson's charges began hesitantly, but soon after Berbatov had put his side ahead on 33 minutes, Fletcher added a aim eight minutes later, and the match was all but more than. Giggs scored his side's third aim with 5 minutes to go, in what was a dominant performance by the eleven-time champions.

The game was Newcastle's 1st, just after qualifying once more to play in the leading flight, and Chris Hughton's wards would have fancied their chances against a mid-table side, rather than start their campaign against a marquee side like the Old Trafford squad. That stated, Newcastle had been impressive in the very first third of the game, and displayed pace and teamwork. They would have rued a missed header, by Carroll, early in the game that would have give the visitors the lead.

Head to head, Manchester United have established a dominant 14-two lead over Newcastle in the last 20 league games played among the sides, with the remaining 4 matches drawn.

In their last 10 league games, Newcastle have registered just the one win, along with five draws and 4 losses Manchester United have won 7 of their last 10, whilst losing two and drawing the remaining one. Of their 16 property games this season, Newcastle have won 5, drawn 6 and lost five, even though Manchester United have won five of their 16 games on the road, though losing three and drawing the remaining 8.

In match week 32, Newcastle lost 1-o away to Aston Villa, while Manchester United beat Fulham 2- at household.

United would want to win Tuesday's game and safeguard their lead more than Arsenal, as the Premier League approaches the final bend. When the Old Trafford squad haven't had the similar success rate on the road, they will be buoyed by Newcastle's current form that has suffered just after the departure of their star striker Carroll.

Newcastle's starting eleven against Aston Villa had the following players: Harper, Simpson, Taylor, Williamson, Jose Enrique, Barton, Guthrie, Coloccini, Gutierrez, Ranger and Lovenkrands. Kuqi, Taylor and Donaldson featured as substitutes.

Manchester United had the following men in their beginning eleven against Fulham: Kuszczak, O'Shea, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Gibson, Scholes, Anderson, Valencia, Berbatov and Nani. Carrick, Da Silva and Owen had been applied as substitutes.
