Hardy's stats were way down last year, hitting just six property runs with 38 RBIs, but is capable of turning items about, as he hit 50 residence runs over 2007 and 2008.

What is stopping the Orioles from competing in the loaded AL East is their lack of confirmed starters, but there is some prospective for this unit to rebound off a poor 2010 performance. Jeremy Guthrie cemented his status as the ace of this staff, going 8-four with a 2.76 ERA in the second half of the season. If he builds off those numbers, he could surprise a lot of many people with his numbers in 2011. Yet another guy who appears on the verge of a major year is Brian Matusz, who went 10-12 with a four.30 ERA in his rookie season. Jake Arrieta is an additional starter coming off a solid rookie campaign, and the Orioles are hoping he can improve off a good finish, where he posted a 3.78 ERA over his final eight starts. Baltimore had high expectations for Brad Bergesen in 2010, as he went 7-5 with a three.43 ERA in 19 begins as a rookie in 2009, but he definitely struggled in his second season, going 8-12 with a 4.98 ERA. Chris Tillman and Justin Duchscherer figure to compete for the final spot in the rotation, but it's hard to expect much out of either of these starters.

The Orioles will score runs, but stopping opposing teams from scoring even far more will be the challenging component. They are counting on too many ripe starters in their rotation, and their bullpen has confirmed to be unreliable. Kevin Gregg may well add some stability there, but in the end pitching is going to be their downfall.

Premier League Preview: Stoke Vs Newcastle

Football fans at the Britannia Stadium are due to celebrate Premier League match time on Saturday, March 19, when Stoke host Newcastle in match week 30.

The game is the second of a two-legged encounter, with the very first having been hosted by Newcastle on September 26, 2010. That match ended two-1 in the visitors' favour.

In contrast, Stoke's back-line absorbed every little thing the Magpies could throw at them, specifically by their talismanic striker Carroll who came close to scoring an equaliser.

In match week 29, Stoke lost 3- away at West Ham Newcastle lost 2-1 at home to Everton.

Premier League Preview: Arsenal Vs Wigan

Premier League match time dawns at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal get ready to host Wigan on January 22 in match week 24.

This is a second leg meeting in between the sides, this season the initially that was played in Wigan's residence ground, the DW Stadium, on December 29, 2010, was a two-2 draw. Apart from a weak back-line, the Gunners were also much less useful in midfield. Djourou would have been a greater alternative to Squillaci in defence. Likewise, getting Denilson in midfield did not translate into superior control  for Wenger's men.

There was no holding midfielder and that meant that Arshavin was pushed back into a defensive mould, a role he does not relish Arsenal missed the services of Clichy and Johan.

Wenger was also peeved with a handball from Wigan in the penalty area on 89 minutes that referee Wilson chose to ignore. But in the finish, Wigan deserved a point from the game for their perseverance.

Head to head, in 8 league meetings among the sides, the Gunners have established a five-1 benefit over the Latics.

In their final 5 league games, Arsenal have won 3 though drawing the remaining two Wigan have had 1 win and 3 draws though losing the one remaining game in their final five.

Arsenal have had a reasonably decent house record this season with 6 of 10 games won, when losing three and drawing the 1. Wigan's away record has been much less impressive, with 2 wins in 10 games on the road, whilst drawing and losing 4 games each and every.

In their newest game away against West Ham in match week 23, Arsenal won by a three- margin Wigan's final game at household against Fulham ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

On current form, Arsenal need to prevail over Wigan, on January 22.

Arsenal's starting eleven against West Ham had Szczesny, Eboue, Djourou, Koscielny, Clichy,  Song, Wilshere, Walcott, Fabregas, Nasri and Van Persie. Denilson, Arshavin and Gibbs were employed as substitutes.

Wigan had the following men in their starting eleven against Fulham: Al Habsi, Stam, Caldwell, Alcaraz, Gohouri, Watson, N'Zogbia, Thomas, Diame, Figueroa and Rodallega. Di Santo and McArthur played as substitutes.

Scottish Premier League Preview: Rangers Vs St Johnstone

This Scottish Premier League match is due to kick off at 15:00 GMT, on Saturday 27 February 2011, at
Ibrox Park, Glasgow.

Rangers need to have a victory so badly following their heavy defeat to oldest rivals Celtic final time out. No-one in severe football circles is saying that that defeat was terminal for their title challenge, but it undoubtedly did some damage. Rangers will obviously be searching to bounce back from that and a game at Ibrox is just what they will need.

What they don't want is for that game to be against St Johnstone, a team who have recorded victories and near-victories against them in the final couple of seasons, most notably a 4-1 demolition at McDairmid final season.

A close look at how these teams have done in current matches in the Scottish Premier League as nicely as outside it will give us a far better insight into how Saturday's game is likely to unfold:

Despite the fact that Rangers have no actual form going into this game, they do have the better players and they do have home benefit. It will be interesting to see if Davie Weir plays - he's starting to show his age now, and his famous positioning sense, football brain, and anticipation abilities are beginning to look as if they don't quite compensate as considerably for his lack of pace.

St Johnstone are also lacking form going into this game, but they don't have anything obvious to offset that with, and it looks like its going to be a routine Rangers victory.
